CapME Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 11/12/2025

CapME (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the CapME app, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to operate effectively and provide you with the best experience possible. This includes:

a. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, profile picture, and any other information you provide when creating an account.
  • User Content: Posts, journal entries, messages, images, videos, audio notes, attachments, and other media you upload or create within CapME.
  • Feedback & Support Requests: Information you provide when you contact us for help or feedback.

b. Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Log data, app interactions, device information, IP address, browser type, operating system, and session duration.
  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: We may use cookies or local storage to maintain your session, preferences, and improve app functionality.

c. Information from Third Parties

If you choose to link or integrate third-party accounts (for example, Google or Apple login), we may receive limited information from those services as permitted by their privacy settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve CapME’s features and functionality.
  • Personalize your experience and provide tailored AI insights or summaries.
  • Communicate with you, including sending important service-related notifications.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the platform.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use your personal data for advertising without your consent.

3. AI Processing and OpenAI API

Certain CapME features—such as AI summaries, reflections, and chat interactions—use artificial intelligence models developed by OpenAI, L.L.C. (“OpenAI”).

When you use these AI features:

  • Portions of your content (such as text, posts, or journal entries) may be securely transmitted to OpenAI’s API to generate the requested analysis or response.
  • This data is only used to process your request. It is not used by OpenAI to train their models and is not retained beyond the time required to generate the response.
  • CapME does not sell or share your personal data with OpenAI for advertising or any unrelated purpose.
  • All data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
  • CapME stores the AI outputs (responses or summaries) but not the raw input logs from OpenAI.

By using AI features, you consent to this limited and secure data processing arrangement.

4. Sharing of Information

We value your privacy and limit data sharing as follows:

  • Service Providers: We may share information with trusted vendors that perform services on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, or customer support).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of CapME, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption, access controls, and secure data storage.

However, no online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. Please safeguard your login credentials and account access.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

We will process such requests in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access and review your personal information.
  • Correct or update inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing (where applicable).

To exercise these rights, please contact us via the support options in the app or at capme.biz@gmail.com

8. Children’s Privacy

CapME is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will promptly delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

If you access CapME from outside the United States, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our servers or service providers are located.

We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations.

When we make significant updates, we will notify you by email or within the app.

Your continued use of CapME after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
